Courtney is a 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri Columbia School of Law, she graduated with honors, as a member of the Order of the Coif, and served as Lead Articles Editor of the Missouri Law Review. She clerked for Judge Ronnie White of the Missouri Supreme Court and Judge Patricia Cohen of the Missouri Court of Appeals
Courtney began her career in general commercial litigation with an emphasis on transportation and banking, but began focusing on admiralty and maritime insurance law in 2009. She has represented numerous parties in personal injury, civil rights, and insurance litigation in all phases of litigation, including several successful jury verdicts upheld on appeal. She represents individuals injured in a wide variety of scenarios, including various employment, medical, and adventure sports cases.
She is licensed in both Missouri and Illinois, and is admitted to practice before the following courts:
Courtney has lectured on behalf of the Missouri Bar, co-authored numerous papers for the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and Greater New Orleans Barge and Fleeters Association, and published several law review notes addressing federal civil rights issues. She is a poetry editor for the Women’s Arts Quarterly, competes annually in equestrian events, and is active in the John Burroughs alumni association.
